Annelies M Gentile, MA, PCC is an Integrative Life and Leadership Coach, Speaker, Process Artist and Author of From Chaos to Calm :: Leading Change from the Inside Out, an invaluable guide to resilience for leaders seeking sense, solace and sanity in our rapidly changing world.
With a Masters in Coaching and a knack for poking in a good way, Annelies' gift of presence and loving interruption gently calls you “back to center”. Through leadership coaching, engaging keynotes, and inspiring retreats Annelies helps leaders face uncertainty with courage, creativity and grace.
Consider Annelies to be your Chief Wisdom Officer. She helps you see what you can't yet see, say what you may not be brave enough to speak aloud, and boldly do what must be done. She's your pattern recognition mirror.
She's helped thousands of leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and visionaries transform, find focus and take bold brave action in their personal and professional lives.
From nurturing ideas to managing burnout to tending grief associated with change, she’s served professionals across fields of government, healthcare, law, education, non-profits, arts, tech, science and sales including IBM, GSK, SAS, NCSU, City of Raleigh, NCDOT, Fidelity, Iron Mountain, Helm, Baptist Medical Center, UNC-REX, WakeMed, Campbell Law, NC Bar Association, Captrust and more.
Her previous careers include working on Broadway, first national tours, manager of Hard Rock Cafe in Dubai, and regional educator for three global haircare companies. She’s worked intimately with three NC governors in a row including Bev Perdue for eight years.
It's here, with Bev's blessing that she began her path of coaching leaders. Working in theater and television production, management, corporate training and visual arts is where she frequently worked closely with high-performing, high-level professionals.
Stars such as Bernadette Peters, Petula Clark, Andy Griffith, Tony Curtis, Sandra Bullock, Tom Selek, Jerry Lewis, Juliette Prouse, Patrica Neal, and political figures such as Brian Williams of NBC, President Barack Obama's inaugural Advisory Council member Eboo Patel, White House Advisory Council Syliva Jackson, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, Senators Richard Burr, Bob Dole and so many more all relied on her.
Leaders she's worked with treasure her insight, compassion and safety to be vulnerable in her presence. She consistently brings these values to her coaching practice today.
Having traveled 22 countries and 47 US states, Annelies discovered most people want the same three things: to be heard, to feel safe and to hold a sense of belonging. She works from that place of inclusion to help you find peace and joy in life and in one another again.
From chaos to calm, Broadway to blacksmithing, divorce, death and Dubai, Annelies is no stranger to change— making her great at helping YOU embrace life’s wild and wooly edges with gratitude, maybe even glee.
Her education includes a master’s degree in coaching (Maryland University of Integrative Health), graduate studies in creativity, conflict transformation and peacebuilding (European Graduate School in Switzerland), transformative leadership (Tai Sophia Institute), and is a professionally certified coach (PCC) with ICF.
Annelies is also an ordained Interfaith Minister through Universal Life Church (2007) and Earthstar Spiritual Center (2021). Presiding over weddings and life transitions from birth to death to honoring sacred celebrations, ceremony and transitions is another way she holds space for meaningful moments.
Her board-leadership includes serving on the boards of the Art Therapy Institute, Center for Human Earth Restoration and Triangle Art Works.
Annelies began work at age 19 way before the internet. She's a life-long learner and seeker. Always asking good questions. Decades of continuing education in mind, body, spirit connection, consciousness, science and spirituality add to the complexity and depth of her wisdom, ability to serve and deeply listen. This includes extensive training in mindfulness, meditation and a Hatha YTT-200 yoga teacher certification. She's also a certified teacher of Laughter Yoga, training with Dr. Madan Kataria.
No matter whom she serves, Annelies believes the secret to success is compassion and knowing how to make gourmet salad out of weeds.
On a personal note, she hammocks for happiness, paddleboards for perspective, walks in nature for solace, forages mushrooms for fun and food, travels when possible, and prefers to do all of the above with her musical sweetheart Greg Whitt of drumforchange.com.
